Dr Mayoor Patel's article in Dental Sleep Practice

So honored that my picture got included in Dr Mayoor Patel's article on "Exploring TMJ Symptoms as a Result of MAD for Sleep Apnea" in the latest issue of Dental Sleep Practice magazine.

Team Members are using their training to Great Affect!

Dental Team Members with Great Training:

We were going through some cases and your team members made some very astute observations on a particular case.
They noticed that the soft palette seemed different then what they were used to as it was very large and the tongue position seemed different.
They deduced that the patient had enlarged tonsils and uvula and that the entire soft palette seemed to be enlarged.
They got the patients chart and and read that the doc during the oral examination had graded the tonsils at 3 and noted enlarged uvula.
That was a great learning experience and they are really paying attention to exactly what they are doing in regards to taking and looking at the x-rays.

Just had to comment on this.
Please pass this comment around if it will help anyone out!

Mucous Retention!

So one of my trained offices got so excited about taking a CBCT scan and finding mucous retention in a maxillary sinus, Why!  because they were trained to look for it by me!  This patient was complaining of pressure behind their cheek bone so a dental CBCT was taken and bingo.  This patient is now being referred to the local ENT and their scan volume is being burned onto a disk as a DICOM file and being sent.  Wow they know what they are doing.
